Wondering how you could become a hero on our mission? This is what we had in mind (you don’t need superpowers): 

As a sous chef, you are blessed with both a helicopter view and a flexible mindset, as you are responsible for the culinary standards of the restaurant and the daily operation of the kitchen. You fulfill this job in close cooperation with the Pizza Chef and the Head Chef. In this varied role, you keep an overview over the kitchen staff as well as you monitor the Vegitalian way of working. An important part of this function is to ensure compliance with all government regulations concerning hygiene and HACCP.

You consider it your challenge to take responsibility for the training and onboarding of (new) kitchen staff. In line with the training, you support and correct the team members where needed and act as the role model in the kitchen yourself. 

It is your personal mission to monitor the Vegitalian way of working in the kitchen; the correct following of the recipes during MEP, of the presentation of the dishes and of safety descriptions. You work closely with the other department supervisors and location manager to ensure smooth and profitable overall operations.

WHO YOU ARE

to be successful in this role, we believe that you:

  • have at least 4 years of relevant  experience in various kitchens, as line cook, preferably as sous chef. 
  • have a passion for food and enjoy working with sustainable ingredients. 
  • have a helicopter view and are able to observe the need of training and instructions. 
  • love and appreciate the hectic and high energy vibes of a restaurant kitchen.
  • are ambitious to coach and develop chefs.
  • feel comfortable in an ambitious and informal working environment with team members from around the world. 
  • can be a source of inspiration as you lead and motivate the kitchen team.
  • care about the engagement and recognition of staff and colleagues, in order to support their growth.
  • are happy to create an inclusive and safe working climate, and know how to embody this as a role model.
